Under this arrangement we are at capacity and are unequipped to serve as a general shelter for additional evacuees. For information on other shelters opening in Tifton, please visit:

Nursing Home Staff Sheltering at St. Anne’s
St. Anne’s is sheltering employees from the sister facilities to two of our local nursing homes: Rehab Center of South Georgia and Maple Court. They will be using our facilities for rest and sleep when not on duty caring for their patients who have been evacuated from the coast. They arrived on our campus Friday afternoon with a departure date unknown at this time.
Our guests will need to sleep during their off time, some during the day so they can work night shifts, so traffic in the Ministry Center should be kept at a minimum while they are on our campus, affording them the best opportunity possible for sleep.
Spaces in Use
To make room for our guests and to respect their needs for privacy and sleep, they will be utilizing the following spaces:
- The entire upstairs of the Ministry Center
- Room 102 downstairs in the Ministry Center
No Items Needed at This Time
Other than the space provided, we have not been requested to provide any other services for our guests. As needs develop we will let the parish know via email. Of note, we will not be housing families, children, or pets.
Prayer for Those in the Path of Hurricane Irma
Almighty God, who calmed the storm tossing the disciples’ boat: Calm the fears that beset us as we await Hurricane Irma; grant us the peace that comes from you alone as we sit with the uncertainty of evacuation and in fear of damage to our homes and our communities; draw us ever closer to you, and give us the grace to comfort and aid others in need; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.
