The Church Development Institute (CDI) is a leadership program offered by the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia for church leaders, lay and ordained. Our Rector, the Rev. Lonnie Lacy, serves as a CDI trainer in our diocese.
CDI’s aim is to equip leaders to facilitate longterm transformative change in their congregations. It does so by providing a “toolbox” of skills, deeper self awareness, organizational theory, and a host of methods and processes for understanding the behavior and development of a congregation. All of this takes place within a safe learning environment where one can practice skills in facilitation, feedback, listening, and presentation.
The program is a two-year commitment that includes eight Friday-Saturday weekends at Honey Creek as well as teamwork and planning to be done throughout the year. Those interested in CDI should contact Fr. Lonnie.
