The sanctus kneeler resides within the chancel and is used by acolytes when ringing the sanctus bell during the Sanctus hymn (i.e. “Holy, holy, holy”) and after the words of institution (i.e. “This is my Body . . . This is my Blood . . . Do this for the remembrance of me.”) The words “Come let us sing to the Lord” are taken from the first line of Psalm 95, also known as the Venite.
