Abuse Prevention Training

All volunteers must complete child abuse prevention training through either Darkness to Light or Safeguarding God’s Children with certificates of completion submitted to the church office prior to volunteering. These programs give volunteers the basic information they need to create a culture of safety, accountability, and protection for our young ones at St. Anne’s. Each training is applicable for three years, upon which the volunteer must retake the course.

Darkness 2 Light

Darkness 2 Light is an in-person group training offered by trained facilitators, typically connected to Ruth’s Cottage / Patticake House or other local law enforcement or social services offices. Ruth’s Cottage / Patticake House offers this training regularly at their facilities, and St. Anne’s seeks to offer it once or twice a year at the church. For inquiries on upcoming opportunities, contact the church office at (229) 382-7505.
