On this holy night, Jesus goes “low,” kneeling and washing his disciples’ feet. But that’s only the beginning. Over the next two days he’ll go inexplicably lower and lower and lower, sinking to the deepest depths, all so he might lift us up to God.

Much of this sermon owes its genesis to another sermon by the Rev. Jay Gardner, as referenced by the Rev. Jacob Smith in “Holy Week (MT, GF) (C): The Shadow of the Cross.” Same Old Song, Mockingbird. 7 Apr. 2022. iTunes app.
